About Bureau of Austin
Bureau of Austin exists because we could not find software that treated broker connectivity as a first-class problem.
What we do, who we serve, and where we operate.
Bureau of Austin is a software company based in Craiova, Romania, that develops automated trading infrastructure for systematic traders operating in EU-regulated markets. We build the execution and monitoring layer that sits between a trader's strategy logic and the broker's live order book. Our clients are individual quantitative traders, small professional desks, and family offices who write their own strategies and need a reliable, auditable mechanism to run those strategies without manual intervention. We do not manage client capital, we do not sell signals, and we do not act as a financial intermediary of any kind. Our scope is strictly technical: connecting your code to your broker's API, enforcing the risk parameters you define, and surfacing execution data in a format you can interrogate. We have been operating since 2019 and have processed strategy deployments for clients in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Germany — all under EU regulatory frameworks that require transparent record-keeping of automated order flow.
A concrete picture of our process, our values, and what we will tell you we cannot do.
The Bureau of Austin team consists of eight engineers and one client-success specialist, all based in Craiova. Every new client engagement begins with a technical discovery call — typically 60 to 90 minutes — during which we map the client's strategy logic, identify the target broker's API constraints, and flag any order types or instrument classes that are incompatible. We then deliver a written integration plan before any code is written. Since 2019 we have completed over 140 integration engagements across five broker platforms. Our engineering approach prioritises auditability: every order instruction the engine emits is logged with a microsecond timestamp and stored for 12 months. We are transparent about what our software cannot do. It cannot predict market outcomes, compensate for a poorly designed strategy, or guarantee connection stability when a broker's own infrastructure is degraded. When broker API changes break compatibility — which happens several times per year across the industry — we commit to assessing impact within 48 hours and issuing a patch within five business days where the fix is technically within our control. The indigo-tech aesthetic of our interface is intentional: a calm, high-contrast environment reduces cognitive load during high-volatility sessions when clear information display matters most.
Concrete figures, not aspirational statements.
Operating since 2019 from Craiova, Romania — five years of continuous broker-integration development in a single domain, not a pivot from unrelated software.
Over 140 completed strategy-to-broker integration engagements across five platforms, with clients in four EU countries. Each engagement produced a documented integration file the client retains.
All eight engineers and one client-success specialist work from the Craiova office. No distributed handoffs, no outsourced QA — the same team that builds the connector answers your support ticket.
When a supported broker changes its API, we commit to a written impact assessment within 48 hours and a patch within five business days — a commitment written into every service agreement.
Our office is in Craiova; we work with clients across Romania and the EU remotely.
